Behind the Badge: Officer Kincaid

What brought you to Celina Police Department?

My law enforcement story started with the Denton County Sheriff’s Office, where I worked as a jailer. I then came to work for Celina. I wanted to work here in Celina because of the community itself; I grew up here and wanted to serve the community I grew up in.

What was the motivation behind becoming a law enforcement officer?

My motivation to becoming a law enforcement officer was mainly my grandfather. He was the Mayor of Sanger while I was growing up, and he also worked for the Postal Service. He often interacted with first responders and always spoke highly of them. My parents being teachers and coaches, also influenced me in wanting to be in a profession that served and helped others.

It’s lunch time in Celina, and you haven’t eaten. What’s on the menu?

Toasted Walnut – the Wagyu burger.

What’s the best part of the job?

Having the ability to make a difference in someone’s life.

What’s the most memorable moment for you while on patrol?

There isn’t one moment that comes to mind, but just being around like-minded officers and working within a great community makes patrol memorable as whole.

Your go-to coffee order is…

I prefer Bang or Monster!

What does a typical day off look like for you?

Spending time with my wife and my family. I sleep in when I can, but if you ask my wife, I sleep too much. I also enjoy going out hunting or fishing.

If you had the opportunity to change someone’s perception about law enforcement, what would you say?

Go to your local police department and do a ride-along with an officer. You’ll discover that we are just regular people and you’ll see things from an officer’s point-of-view.

Favorite sports team?
