What brought you to Celina Police Department?
I bought into the growth and room for opportunity here in Celina. I loved the culture that the police department was creating.
What was the motivation behind becoming a law enforcement officer?
My motivation was seeing the other side of law enforcement through some of my family members, who turned to violence and drugs. I knew I wanted to be better than that and was going to be a better influence for my family.
It’s lunch time in Celina, and you haven’t eaten. What’s on the menu?
Toasted Walnut – Chicken Avocado Salad.
What’s the best part of the job?
The people I get to work with everyday are the best part of this job. We are a pretty close department and we would do anything for each other. The bond at Celina PD is untouchable and you won’t find it in any other profession. We spend more time at work with each other than we do with our families.
What’s the most memorable moment for you while on patrol?
Something that I will never forget is being involved in an officer-involved shooting; it made me realize how grateful I am to work with the absolute best people and best police department.
Your go-to coffee order is…
Always different, but definitely sweet!
What does a typical day off look like for you?
I work on the night shift, but I’ll revert back to a day shift schedule when I’m off, so that means hardly any sleep! I’m currently in school working towards my Master’s Degree, so much of my free time is spend doing homework. If I do have free time, it’s being spent with my family or friends.
If you had the opportunity to change someone’s perception about law enforcement, what would you say?
We are humans just like everyone else. Sit down and talk to an officer and get to know them. If you’re able to, join us for a ride along and see first-hand what it’s like to be a police officer. Join the Citizen’s Police Academy and be a part of the community.
Favorite sports team?
