A local business owner and Celina resident have partnered with the Celina Community Police Foundation in providing life-saving equipment to the men and women of the Celina Police Department.
The Celina Community Police Foundation has donated four JTC Claws to the Celina Police Department for patrol operations. The claw, a 20-in-1 tool, is a breaching tool used to gain entry through doors of all types, including those commonly found in office buildings and schools. Now, these tools are on the road and available to officers with CPD in an active shooter situation where officers need to gain entry to a building.
"In today's world, these tools are a must for any law enforcement agency. The purchase and donation of these four tools will allow the officers of Celina to gain entry to a building in the event of an active shooter situation," says Mathew Eberius, the Foundation's President, "we talked about making this donation. Immediately, Clint Dansby and SRC Local Markets jumped in and asked to help."
Law and Order Magazine commented on the usefulness of the JTC Claw, calling it "...one of the most simple, versatile, capable and rugged of all the available entry tools. Without any exaggeration, two officers, each one with a Claw, can enter just about anywhere patrol needs to go. This certainly includes any patrol response to an active shooter in a school or workplace."
This donation marks just one of SRC Local Markets' support for the Foundation and our law enforcement community. They also recently sponsored winter jackets for the VIPS, or Volunteers in Policing, a new program from the Celina Police Department. They also sponsored "Celina Backs the Blue" t-shirts for the entire CPD team.
