Celina officers are known for their community-first approach. The Celina Community Police Foundation is seeking nominations for an officer that has gone above and beyond in their dedication to community policing in the Celina community.
The Community Service Leadership Award is awarded to a sworn member of the Celina Police Department who has consistently shown a high caliber of community-focused leadership, engaging with citizens, business owners, and visitors, and is a role model for the City of Celina. The recipient should be active in community events, visible in the community, and a supporter of the Foundation's programs, services, and initiatives.
"The Foundation wanted to present this award annually to an officer that's really gone beyond their normal job duties and who is really showcasing the positives of community policing, by interacting with the public, greeting people while on patrol, or being an ambassador for the police department," according to Mathew Eberius, the Foundation's President.
Nominations are open to the public and will close on Friday, March 3 at 5:00PM CDT. Nominations may be made by any community member, including Celina employees, officers, business owners, and residents. Nominations may be made by clicking here.
The winner will be announced during the Celina Police Department Awards Banquet in mid-March.
